{"id":8,"date":"2021-07-28T12:25:06","date_gmt":"2021-07-28T16:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.altimatel.com\/content\/?p=8"},"modified":"2021-07-29T13:16:24","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T17:16:24","slug":"set-up-your-modem-to-connect-to-the-internet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.altimatel.com\/content\/?p=8","title":{"rendered":"Set up your modem to connect to the Internet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>The following article explains how to set up your ZTE H268A Home Gateway device to connect to the Internet for the first time.<\/p><cite>IMPORTANT: You must first complete these instructions before you can use a wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet connection.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before you begin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you receive your new modem, the following items should be included in the box:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>1 ZTE H268 Home Gateway<\/li><li>1 RJ45 Cable (Yellow)<\/li><li>2 RJ11 Cables (Grey)<\/li><li>1 Splitter Box<\/li><li>1 Power Adapter<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You are using Altima Telecom Home Phone services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To set up your ZTE H268A Home Gateway modem for use with Altima Telecom High-speed Internet and Home Phone services, do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>From the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>, connect the&nbsp;<strong>power adapter cable<\/strong>.<\/li><li>From the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>, connect the RJ11 cable running from your phone jack to the grey&nbsp;<strong>DSL<\/strong>&nbsp;port. The&nbsp;<strong>Broadband<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Internet<\/strong>&nbsp;lights start to flash green. They should become solid green within 30 seconds.<\/li><li>From the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>, connect the RJ11 cable running from your telephone to the&nbsp;<strong>Phone 1<\/strong>&nbsp;port.<\/li><li>Connect the&nbsp;<strong>Ethernet<\/strong>&nbsp;cable to the LAN1 port on the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>&nbsp;and connect the other end of the same&nbsp;<strong>Ethernet<\/strong>&nbsp;cable to the&nbsp;<strong>Ethernet<\/strong>&nbsp;port on your&nbsp;<strong>computer<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Your new modem is set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn how to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/newsite.altimatel.com\/access-and-customize-your-wireless-home-network\/\">access and customize your home Wi-Fi network<\/a>&nbsp;to establish a wireless Internet connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You are not using Altima Telecom Home Phone services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To set up your ZTE H268A Home Gateway device for use with Altima Telecom High-speed Internet services only, do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>From your&nbsp;<strong>phone jack<\/strong>, connect one end of an RJ11 cable.<\/li><li>From the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>, connect the RJ11 cable running from the&nbsp;<strong>phone jack<\/strong>&nbsp;to the&nbsp;<strong>DSL<\/strong>&nbsp;port.<\/li><li>From the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>, connect the RJ45 cable to the&nbsp;<strong>LAN1<\/strong>&nbsp;port.<\/li><li>Connect the other end of the RJ45 cable to your&nbsp;<strong>computer<\/strong>.<\/li><li>From the back of your&nbsp;<strong>modem<\/strong>, connect the power adapter to the&nbsp;<strong>Power<\/strong>&nbsp;port.<\/li><li>Plug the&nbsp;<strong>power adapter<\/strong>&nbsp;into a power outlet.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Your new modem is set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn how to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/newsite.altimatel.com\/access-and-customize-your-wireless-home-network\/\">access and customize your home Wi-Fi network<\/a>&nbsp;to establish a wireless Internet connection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following article explains how to set up your ZTE H268A Home Gateway device to connect to the Internet for the first time.
